This isn't Holkham this is Tilbury on Thames...

The above Video clip was taken just after dawn, as you can see these 3 Shorelarks were real close and right little crackers. I can't actually remember the last time I saw Shorelarks but I know it was on the pristine dunes of Holkham but here they are on a litter strewn shingle edge on the saltings of the Thames at East Tilbury.
Whilst on the saltings watching the Shorelarks the ever present 1st winter Glauc was actually on the nearby mud flats and showed well as it mainly sat on an old tyre, I managed to track it in flight (badly) whilst digiscoping it. At one point today you could be stood and do a 360 degree and see, Shorelarks, Glauc and Slav Grebe!!
The Glauc was site faithful today and kept us entertained for nearly 4 hours whilst we searched for a new White Winger, also seen today 1 Slavonian Grebe on the pit, (which is the 2nd at 2 different sites I have seen this past 7 days ) 2 adult Med Gulls, 40+ Redshank, 60+Lapwing "Another Good winters day with Paul". We had seen the Shorelarks, Glauc and Slav Grebe all by 09:50 hrs. This winter is certainly shaping up to be a good one...
