At Last a Result !!

((My first video footage of a Caspian Gull and in the form of a cracking 1st Winter bird))
The weather was kind today and even though it did rain as forecast it was light and didn't cause any inconvenience to the day. So it was eight hours of "Gulling" today and the totals are as follows. Adult Med Gull this was one of Four adults on site today. Also one 2nd Summer and a first winter bird as per photo below.
"Excellent" 1st winter plumage is my favourite for Med Gulls, This bird was present for a few hours and spent some of the time resting up.
A lot of the Gulls were really starting to look smart today allowing close prolonged views for the odd photo opportunity.
After a tricky start in trying to get to grips with this "Casp" as it was a bit flighty and jumpy to begin with but it finally gave up the ghost and allowed close and prolonged views. This was a real cracking bird!!
A real cracking bird that showed well as it fed up on the outside of the Melle, this was one of three Caspian Gulls present today.
I managed to get this poor record flight shot (with 15x camera) as it flew over at the end of the day..."What a great day". Also today several colour ringed large Gulls of which all the details were taken and will be sent off to the relevant ringing groups.
