Annual Pilgrimage to the New Forest..

Had a day & a half in the forest with Steve sat over looking a couple of Woods in search of Raptors: the details as follows: Kestrel, Sparrowhawk, Common Buzzard, Goshawk, Red Kite (an amazing 8 birds flew through, starting with a single bird, then a group of 4 together, then 2 and another single bird all flying low east) Honey Buzzard & an adult Saker of unknown origin. Also singing Woodlarks and a few Stonechats.
After raptor watching we stopped for a Cream Tea and then went inside the Forest and had some nice views of Wood Warblers (photo below) Firecrests, Redstarts, Nuthatch's, Treecreeper's & Coal Tits.
The Day ended with 2 real close cracking Nightjars displaying in good light as well as a Roding Woodcock and a Tawny Owl in the spotlight. All in all a very nice, peaceful, relaxing, stress free summer's day in the Forest.
