I Got this long awaited book for Christmas and I have to say that on first browse it looks excellent. The book describes the migrations of waders that cover the east Asian-Australasian flyway which, like most migration flyways are practically invisible to the naked eye. It takes you from the non breeding grounds of Austalia, New Zealand and Southern Asia then through the migrational stop over sites such as the Yellow sea and on to the northern arctic breeding grounds of Alaska and Siberia. Through these sites it describes the waders, their ecology and the everyday threats they face throughout their long journeys and during their short breeding season. Also Jan Van Ke Dam's photo's are amazing but don't just take my word for it have a look at some of the photo's I have posted below.........
