Went and checked out the Turnstone roost at the end of the Pier yesterday. Failed to find any colour-flag ringed individuals and also failed to see the Purple Sandpiper but this may have been due to the sheer number of people present.
As always the Pier head held a good number of Med Gulls with 11 adult, 7 first and 1 second winter birds. There was also 2 colour ringed birds present with the above photo showing an adult bird wearing a green colour ring on the right leg with letters ROVB, again a presumed French- Belgium ringed bird. The photo below shows a first winter bird wearing a white colour ring on the left leg with the code E494 which is a presumed south coast of the UK bird.
