Russia (Day 1) Moscow

Flew London - Moscow with British Midland which was the first time I have flown with this airline and the flight was ok with back seat TV and a meal provided during the 4 hour flight. After taking off it was cloud cover for a while until we were over the North Sea and as I looked down I could see some islands and when I checked the on board route planner it showed that we were currently over the Dutch Islands of Texel etc. I then slept the remainder of the flight except for waking up to eat and then drifted back to sleep. Arrival in Moscow, Russia was a grey, cold & wet affair. I was met by Dimi who gave me a lift to Evgeny's apartment where I am to overnight here with Gerrit an American member of the team. Tomorrow it is planned that we will take a stroll in the park (photo above) seen from Evgeny's 17th floor apprtment block. Then we have a lunch time meeting with all the remaining expedition team members before we take a 9 hour flight from Moscow to Anadyr on the Chucotka Peninsular, Siberia where we are to wait for a clear window in the weather before taking a helicopter to our base camp of Meinopilgynia.
