Russia (Day 38) Meino

The sun was shining at the start of the morning but the fog began to roll in at around lunch time and by mid afternon it was quite heavy in places. A part of today was spent sorting through photo's to provide to Liza as there was a presentation being given to the local school and villagers of the community this afternoon. We all attended and it seemed to generate interest to the locals. A lot of the information was on the importance of Meino and Spoon Billed Sandpiper as well as the other wildlife of the area. Then at dinner in the evening there was the talk about extending our survey's further afield and to take a boat down river to enable us to have several days / nights camping out. . Also there is also talk about our departure in around 28 days time and how we will try to travel over-land this time and maybe, if possible by boat in the hope of taking in some seabird colonies...
