The sun sets over Mersing beach and so brings another high tide roost to a close. Todays roost showed an increase in Lesser Sandplovers but otherwise nothing new to report.
If you are ever in Mersing the Port Cafe above really is worth a visit, this is the only bar in the town and does very good food, has free wi-fi, 3 TV screens which shows the sport, news, music & national geographic channels and is situated to the ferry terminal for the out-lying islands.
There are many 24 hour restaraunts in the town and so you can eat and get a cuppa anytime day or night. A couple have TV screens that show the sport and the odd movie during the hours of darkness.
There is a local bike crew aptly named the "Mersing Bikers" (below) but even these actually smiled and nodded to me as I sat outside the restaurant, with a cuppa watching the match.
