Sunset yesterday evening from the island and below, well those of you who know me, know I am quite a cat fan and around 10 years ago I had 2 cats that I took in as Kittens as one of the guy's I worked with was going to sling them off of Hammersmith bridge one night whilst we were working and so I couldn't see that happen and so I ended up taking them home after work that shift and looked after them for years.
Well as I said in the last post I was going to introduce you to some one special, well here she is. This is Charlie, a small, less than 2 week old kitten that we have taken in and are currently looking after by providing food, water and a comfy and safe area. You gotta admit she is cute.
Last week one evening whilst having the evening meal I could hear the pining of a small creature and as I looked around trying to work out what is was and where it was coming from, there just underneath the generator was a a nose and 2 eyes peering out from below. I tried to give her some food but she just kept running back in beneath the generator. So I put out a few bits of fish and chicken on the ground and she came out to eat it. I gradually made a trail with the food to coax her further out and she followed it. Over the next few evenings I did this and she was then comfortable enough to come right under the table whilst we were eating.
Then Catherine arrived on the island, an architect from Middlesborough who is here to do some work for a few months over seeing some of the construction works and when I arrived back from Juara I discovered that she named the kitten "Charlie" and it is now resident around our bungalows, so Charlie is the new pet.
