Another day arrives and so we head off out to a new area of the beach, as we were driving along the beach we noticed that one of the team got grounded in the soft sand but luckily managed to get out of the tricky situation pretty much as quick as they got in to it.
Another successful catch keeps our 100% record for the expedition. Numbers are again low but still, every bird counts. The Grey Plover above looked pretty smart and I have not seen one of these in the hand since my last visit to the Wash.
This Greenshank above and below was again nice to see, this bird is one of last years juveniles of which we only had a few.
Above shows another rather smart Marsh Sandpiper and below shows a juvenile Red Capped Plover. This is the only Red capped Plover caught during my time on the expedition.
After this we enough time spare for a game of 7's on the beach before returneing back to base where I have now pretty much given up on seeing an Aussie Hobby.
